                                                                   Professor Yihuai Gao

Professor Gao has had more than 60 papers published on international conferences and major journals, and written 11 academic works such as Magic Herbs of Shen Nong , Future Star of Bio-technology , Ganoderma Lucidum : Wonder Herb of the Century , The Science of Mushrooms , The Magic Kingdom of Gill Fungus and Open Air Cultivation of Lentinus Edodes with Culture Media . He was elected in 1992 one of the 50 Excellent Young and Middle-aged Scientists in China and exceptionally promoted to senior titles.

In October 1992, he was invited by Landcare Research, A Crown Research Institute of New Zealand to conduct researches on the theories and applications of food (medicinal) and natural products in the country. The past 12 years have seen his in-depth knowledge and outstanding achievements in his field of research.

Prof Gao is the holder of patents for several inventions. He has won numerous domestic and international invention awards, notably the Einstein Award. Up to now, he has invented more than 10 natural medicinal products, which are selling all over the world.

He has been received, acknowledged and encouraged by current New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, former New Zealand Prime Minister Jenny Shipley, current Chinese Prime Minister Hu Jintao, former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and former President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhou Guang Zhao for his outstanding researches and achievements. His stories have been reported on major mass media in several countries and compiled in biographies with worldwide audience.
